John W. Houghtaling, managing partner of Gauthier, Houghtaling and Williams, believes in the centrifuge technology as a means of cleaning up oil spills. John W. Houghtaling served as CEO of Ocean Therapy Solutions which he co-founded with Hollywood actor Kevin Costner. Ocean Therapy Solutions, according to John W. Houghtaling, focuses on environmental clean-up solutions following an oceanic oil spill.

Explaining the technology, John W. Houghtaling recently said the Ocean Therapy Solutions centrifuge actually serves as an “oil and water separator.” While the centrifuge technology is not just a water skimmer, itcan be used that way, stated John W. Houghtaling. “During the Gulf spill of last summer,” added John W. Houghtaling, “the centrifuge, attached to vessels, was used to skim the water.”
